Carolyn Fine Friedman, Philanthropist

Carolyn Fine Friedman is the Founder and Chair of The Fine Fund. Created in 1997, The Fund supports organizations that address the unintended impacts of chemicals on humans and the ecosystem. The Fund provides grants to organizations that conduct scientific research to detect and reduce the impact of chemicals in the environment. With grants for media and communications, The Fund brings the science of health impacts of environmental chemicals to a broad audience. While Carolyn works to foster strategic partnerships among diverse groups of advocates in the field of environmental health, she also pushes The Fund to support movement builders to align into networks to effectively advocate for public health and safety. Carolyn is a member of the Steering Committee of the Health and Environment Funders Network.  She serves on the boards of Coming Clean, the Center for Health and the Global Environment at the Harvard University School of Public Health and is a past board member of the New England Grassroots Environment Fund and the Northeast Wilderness Trust. Carolyn earned her Master’s in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

 

Paula Schaper, Communications Director

Paula Schaper is founder and president of WestWordVision, a full service branding, marketing and PR consulting firm. Ms. Schaper works with collectives to help them recognize and use their unique identity and authentic character as a basis for collaborative, sustainable communication, decision-making and action. Her Genis Factor® method focuses on building business, brands and relationships by leveraging the untapped assets of human collectives−their intelligence, personality and energy. Prior to founding WestWordVision, she branded and built fan communities for musical artists Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Aerosmith, and Paula Abdul. She and her business partner at Entertainment Direct built the largest paid fan club in history for New Kids on the Block. Ms. Schaper also managed accounts for Gelman Sciences, Borders Books and Crain Communications. Today Ms. Schaper also works with her brother, artist Ned Schaper, through their non-profit organization Society for Bevel Intentions. She brings her career expertise in authentic branding, economic development, entertainment and community building to the mission of sharing the Bevel philosophy with worldwide audiences. Ms. Schaper holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Harp Performance from the University of Michigan.

Wendy Vittori, Strategic Advisor

Wendy Vittori is the founder and principal of Vittori Consulting, LLC. Ms. Vittori provides strategic expertise and executive counseling, focused on high-velocity business growth planning for private sector and non-profit organizations.  She currently serves as Executive Director of the Health Product Declaration Collaborative.  Prior to founding Vittori Consulting in 2007, she had over 30 years of global business experience in general management, strategy, product development, marketing and manufacturing operations, including as a senior executive with Intel Corp and Motorola.  Ms. Vittori was a doctoral candidate at the Harvard Business School, earned an MBA from Northeastern University (where she was later Assistant Professor in Business Policy and Entrepreneurship), and received her undergraduate degree from Harvard College.  She is an associate faculty member at the Arizona State University Lodestar Center for Philanthropy and Non-Profit Innovation, where she developed and teaches a Non-Profit Strategic Planning Boot Camp and participates in other strategy-related activities.

Summer Darden, Social Media & Blog Writer

Summer Darden is the Social Media & Blog Writer for the Results Project. Summer is a full-time student at the University of Arizona and pursuing her undergrad in Pre-Business with a minor in Global Business. She is currently working towards a career in International Development and Sustainability through natural resources and uses travel as a key element in her studies. She is the Social Media advisor for Students Consulting for Non-profit Organizations (SCNO) and is responsible for using social media to spread awareness about TUSD KidsFirst, a non-profit that’s main goal is to encourage more students to enroll in public schools in the Tucson Unified School District, in order to benefit the educational community. Summer is also the Communications Advisor for the Eller Global Business Association and has increased comprehension regarding international business and global topics via bi-weekly meetings with said association as well as increased professional business literacy from guest speakers in developmental management across the globe. She is an alumni of Global Leadership Adventures (GLA), a peace corps inspired travel group that encourages young adults to find their passions abroad. During this experience, she was able to teach intermediate English to a classroom of 60 first graders in Moshi, Tanzania and Refurbish projects within the primary school of the village. This trip also gave her the opportunity to coordinate with important speakers to ascertain the causes of the conflicting poverty industry within Africa and it’s relations with the United States.
